Spicy Salt Recipe:
Ingredients:
- Sea Salt or any salt will do!
- Dried Peppers (any hot peppers or super hot peppers are great in this recipe, you can also make Red Hatch Chile Salt with dried red Hatch chiles!)
- Herbs (optional, you can add dried oregano, rosemary, thyme, basil, curry, turmeric... the options are endless!)
Directions:
Put salt and dried peppers into a spice grinder, coffee grinder or food processor and pulse until well mixed. Or if you have a molcajete, that's also a great way to grind up your spicy salt. Store in clean jars. These make great gifts!
Fun Fact:
Did you know that dried peppers have their own unique names? A smoke-dried Jalapeno is a Chipotle pepper. A dried Poblano pepper is called an Ancho pepper. A dried Anaheim chile is called a Colorado chile. A dried Mirasol pepper is called a Guajillo. Any of these peppers would be delicious for this spicy salt recipe!
