Here's our Top 5 Peppers to Grow in 2025
Make 2025 great with some super tasty (and spicy) new peppers that are sure to boost those endorphins and delight your tastebuds:
#1 Tasmanian Ghost Pepper
A new pepper in our lineup, this fruity pepper has nice flavor until the ferocious bite arrives. The chances of being attacked by a Tasmanian Ghost are very high after you chew it up swallow it down under! The aroma and flavor is fruity up front then forget about it – it's HOT! Great for making super hot sauce recipes and extra-spicy salsa recipes. We love whipping up a batch of crazy-spicy Tasmanian Pico-de-Gallo to serve with spice-loving friends and family.
#2 Yellow Caribbean Habanero
Another new pepper this year, this brilliant yellow habanero has a great tropical citrusy flavor and it is among the hottest in the habanero family. Twice as hot as the regular habanero! Habaneros have the best fruity hot flavor and are delicious when added to hot sauce recipes and hot sauce recipes and salsa recipes. This habanero is especially good in Pico-de-Gallo recipes!
#3 Gypsy Sweet Pepper
Another new pepper to our lineup that's been famous since 1981 is the All-American Selections winner, the Gypsy pepper! If you like sweet, the delicious Gypsy pepper has a fantastic sweet flavor and is never bitter like a bell pepper can be. These cute wedge-shaped grow 3–5” long with medium-thick walls, and can be used early at the yellow-green stage or left to ripen to orange-red. The 18“ plants are TMV resistant and super easy to grow. This productive hybrid is a cross between an Italian bullhorn and a bell pepper. These are the perfect peppers for salads, frying, sweet poppers, and for stuffed peppers. Non-GMO of course!

#4 Aleppo Pepper
One of our all-time favorites, the infamous Aleppo pepper makes the most amazing hot pepper flakes and is used often in Mediterranean cuisine. It has a beautiful deep red color, rich fruity undertones and an aromatic flavor. Make some delicious Aleppo spice mix with these special peppers! Make sure to grow this pepper in 2025 and every year after! You won't regret it.
#5 Big Jim Legacy
We couldn't have a list without our absolute favorite type of peppers – green chile from New Mexico! Big Jim Legacy is an all-around winner for 2025 and beyond when it comes to green chile. It has incredible New Mexican chile flavor, thick flesh, and mild to medium heat. A long-time favorite for chile rellenos. Easy to grow, and one of the fastest growing peppers, it's great for short seasons as you can start harvesting in about 78 days. This is also one of the largest peppers in the world that you can grow in your garden!
Happy growing in 2025! May it be a great growing season.
