Green Bean Provider is the most dependable early green bean and it's very easy to grow. This variety has excellent flavor and is great for fresh eating, freezing, and canning. The seeds germinate well in cooler soil, and the plant can adapt to diverse soil and climate conditions.

Green Bean Provider seeds can be planted directly into the garden.

Sow directly in the garden after the last frost date.

Plant seeds 1” deep and 4” apart in rows that are 2' wide. They should come up in 7-12 days depending on the soil temperature and grow quickly in cool weather.

The Provider green beans have stringless pods that grow heavily on compact plants. They will be mature in 7-8 weeks and produce beans for up to 3 weeks. For a longer harvest plant seeds again in 3 weeks for a second harvest.

The Provider Green Bean is very dependable and comes through every year with early, heavy yields of attractive, uniform beans. Plants are vigorous and productive even under adverse conditions. They have a bush growth habit and strong root systems. Plants grow 18-24" tall and have good resistance to mildew and virus.

Features.

This Provider variety can be planted earlier than other beans because it germinates well in cool soils. They are easy to pick and one of the best varieties for freezing and canning. The fresh green beans are edible pods and should be picked early in the plant’s growth cycle. As they mature, the pods become tough and fibrous.

Benefits.

Green Beans are a powerhouse of nutrition. They are a very good source of vitamin K, manganese, vitamin C, dietary fiber, folate, and vitamin B2. In addition, green beans are a good source of copper, vitamin B1, chromium, calcium, and potassium.

As a silicon-rich food, they contain valuable amounts of the mineral silicon in a form that is easy for us to absorb. Silicon is an important nutrient that supports the health of bones and connective tissues. They contain about twice the amount of iron as compared to spinach. Iron is a component of red blood cells which is essential to transport oxygen from the lungs to cells throughout the body. It also has large amounts of colorful pigments like carotenoids that help maintain good eyesight and night vision.

Perfect for building the soil

I grow beans because they help build the soil, and I like to grow them in rotation between peppers and tomatoes. These grew very nicely and were very productive - couldn't keep up with them they just kept coming!
