Mosco chile peppers are the most delicious peppers you can find North of the NM state line. This Mirasol chile from Pueblo, Colorado is very meaty with a sweet flavor and medium heat. This chile will make the best red chile sauce you have ever tasted.

History: A single pepper plant was selected from a crop of peppers grown from the bag of Pueblo mirasol seeds given to Dr. Michael Bartolo from his father. The seeds were from his late uncle, Harry Mosco, an Italian farmer that had farmed the east Pueblo area for decades. Read more about the story of the Mosco chile and the Giadone chile here: coloradocountrylife.coop

The Pueblo ‘Mosco’ has a different flavor from the Hatch chile. It tends to have thicker walls, which make it very easy to roast, and a little more heat.

Pods grow to 5" long with thick flesh and red color. They have a very distinctive sweet flavor with nice heat for cooking your favorite dishes. Plants are very productive and grow well in high elevation, short seasons or dry climates. Capsicum annuum (75 days)

Heat Level: Medium  Scoville 5,000

~ Packet contains 10 seeds.

Like spicy? Don't miss the sister to the Mosco Chile, the
Giadone Chile, but it is much hotter with 10,000-12,000 Scovilles.

In early spring, start seeds indoors 8 weeks prior to warm nightly temperatures. Place the seeds in sterile media and cover 1/4” deep. Provide 85°F bottom heat, bright light and keep moist at all times. Seeds will germinate in 7 - 10 days. Transplant seedlings into pots and grow until there are 6 true leaves on the plant. Plant them directly into rich soil, 30” apart. Harvest peppers when they are green or wait a few more weeks until they are red for great flavor.

All of our seeds are GMO-free.

They're still growing. Can't wait for the finished product

Excited to plant

However, I bought the seeds too late to plant in this hot climate.
I'll need to wait for Spring. I also plan to buy your Paprika pepper.
Thanks

Mirasol Mosco Pueblo Chile Seeds

Some of the seeds were started and they did sprout well. That is about as far along as they are as we are in Zone 6b and can't plant outside until mid-May. Give me until August and send me an email to review then once they mature and I have sampled them in a few dishes.

So far so good.

Got my order quick. They are just beginning to sprout. And with less than ideal temps. It's been a week. Happy with my purchase.

So worth it!

This was out 1st year growing our own chilies. We had a chilly rainy spring but were still able to to get enough harvest that was so worth it! They were delicious! Can't wait to repeat and try more varieties next year.
