Open-pollinated, heirloom  (75-90 days)

Fruit Color: Bright Orange. Shape: Round. Size: 10-12 oz. Plant Habit: Indeterminate. Plant Size: 5’

Smooth 10-12 oz. bright orange-red slicer tomatoes that are absolutely full of that old-fashioned tomato taste.

History: Initially bred by Joe Bratka's father. Joe found seeds for this tomato in a tool shed decades later, but could not get them to germinate. He sent them to Carolyn Male who succeeded in germinating the seed and began sharing this variety with other gardeners in the mid-1990s. Such a great story about saving an heirloom!

Huge tomatoes

I'm not sure if the seeds I received were mislabeled but my tomatoes were huge! Their average size was 1.5 pounds! The stalks of the plants were thick too! These were one of my favorite tomatoes from all the varieties that I grew this year.

Superb tomato!

I’m surprised to see no reviews on this tomato. Amazing flavor. Our family has been growing this for at least 18 years, right at the same time our garden center started growing it. Has a great following. An employee and I both taste tested this at a local farm years ago. It had won the taste test over so so many tomatoes. Yields are quite impressive too. I highly recommend it, I’m sure it can be in your garden as a yearly treat like ours!
