A rare Russian heirloom tomato that produces large black tomatoes. This beefsteak variety has deep reddish-brown skin and a rich, sweet, and spicy old-fashioned taste. It is rated among the best for dark heritage tomatoes. The indeterminate plants require space and good support. The great flavor and meaty flesh make it ideal for eating fresh or cooking. If you like purple/black/brown tomatoes you will really enjoy eating this one.
